'Barbarism is the natural state of mankind,' the borderer said, still staring somberly at the Cimmerian. 'Civilization is unnatural. It is a whim of circumstance. And barbarism must always ultimately triumph.'

The Expanse RPG

Just a quick note that I have been working on an MoreCore extension for The Expanse RPG coming out from Green Ronin. If you are interested in the RPG check out their quick start rules.

I won't call it 100% yet, but I can happily call it a version 1.

It features updated graphics to hopefully match the theme of the series as well as a custom character sheet. I have left the MoreCore functionality intact as well. It also includes a module to allow you to have a Churn tracking graphic, an idea I took from the Jolly GMs Conan extension.

I am including a screenshot, and you can of course grab the extension and churn module here and MoreCore here.

If you find anything really weird or totally broken, let me know!

**NOTE: I apparently built this on an old version of the MORECORE system, so if you downloaded this BEFORE this was here, I advice RE-DOWNLOADING it, as it will fix a few issues.

  1. I can't seem to get the churn chart to work, but that is not a big deal. The dark grey background in most chat areas makes text pretty hard to read in some cases. A very helpful extension though, thanks.

  2. Hey bud, tried to use your extension but when it loads up, I get an error. The actual error is as follows:
"[5/16/2020 10:34:05 PM] [ERROR] Error loading extension XML file. [ExpanseV1] [graphics/graphics_frames.xml]: An error occurred while parsing EntityName. Line 20, position 53."

Is there something I can do to fix this? I downloaded Morecore, the Expanse extension, and thechurn module, and put them into the correct folders (I believe) then updated FG and created a new campaign, is there a step I missed? Thanks!

    1. It looks like they have changed how it parses XML comments, which is what is causing issues. I have gone through and got it to load, and confirmed the rollers work. It *SHOULD* be usable now, at least to the point it was before. If you start getting into vehicles and such this isn't going to be helpful for you, and I haven't had time/desire to work on it.

If you are using FGU, the fonts are not going to be correct either, which could have some size issues here and there, but I don't have time right now to replace all of the old FGF files with new TTF files.

If you come across any other issues, let me know.

      Thank you for the feedback!

  3. Hi! I don't know if you are still working on this, but here's the error I get when I try to activate the sidebar :
[WARNING] template: Could not find template (button_library_sidebar) in class (shortcutbar)
[ERROR]Script execution error: [string "scripts/manager_desktop.lua"]:437: attempt to index local 'c' (a nil value)
I'm trying to run it on FGU.
Thank you for any help you could provide.

    1. I can't say I am working on it at present. The issue doesn't surprise me, there has been load of issues with things as the new FGU was implemented. Time is sadly taken up by other things: School, Work, Play, Conan 2d20 Roll20 implementation.

Looking at your error, it may have to do with how the sidebar works now, ie they used to have graphics, but don't anymore, if I understand things correctly.

Thanks for the comment, always nice to know people are attempting to get some use out of my dabblings' even if it isn't working out for them.
